Advances
The advances constitute a central learning experience in the program. Students participate in the research courses while on campus, connect with cohort members and advisors in person, and spend time with Leonard Sweet.
Students attend a total of three advances with Len:
- Orientation Advance: George Fox Evangelical Seminary & the Paramount Hotel, Portland, Oregon
- Second Advance: Ridley Hall & the Wescott House, Cambridge, United Kingdom
- Final Advance: Outlook Inn & the North Shore Cottages, Orcas Island, Washington
While on campus during the orientation advance, students are responsible for their own lodging. Otherwise food, lodging and valet parking are provided for each of the host locations with incidentals excepted. Wireless Internet connectivity will be available. Students, however, are responsible for all air travel and local transport (car rental, taxi, etc) for each of the advances.
Advances are typical 5-6 days, 4-5 nights in length.
