EdD focused on Higher Education Leadership

brandtThe EdD cohort focused on higher education leadership will start classes in summer 2008. A unique focus of this cohort is that the primary mentor/cohort leader will be Dr. David Brandt, president emeritus of George Fox University. Brandt brings 40 years of leadership in Christian higher education where he served as a physics professor at Wheaton College (IL) and Gordon College (MA), vice president for Academic Affairs at Messiah College (PA) and Bethel University (MN), and president at both Tabor College (KS) and George Fox.

The format of the program is geared toward professionals that are working full-time in Higher Education and are only available to attend doctoral classes on a part-time basis. The program features a three week residency for the summers of 2008, 2009 and 2010, with fall and spring semesters focused on web-based courses. At the end of the third year of the program participants would have completed the necessary coursework requirements and participate in doctoral comprehensive exams in Newberg for 3-5 days during spring or summer 2011. Following successful completion of comprehensive exams the student would work independently with a doctoral faculty member conducting research for their dissertation.
