Admission to Student Teaching
Acceptance into the teacher education program does not guarantee assignment for student teaching.
The semester prior to full-time student teaching, apply for admission to student teaching by completing the required application.

Admission to student teaching is based upon continued good standing
- Full admission to Teacher Education
- Maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on all college-level courses, including transfer credits
- Maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 in major
- Completion of the required teaching major and professional courses with no grade below C-
- Successful completion of field experiences
- Successful completion of EDUC 375 Work Sample
- Taken the ORELA-Oregon Educator Licensure Assessments Multiple Subjects Examination, (appropriate basic skills and content area examinations)
- A minimum of 12 semester hours completed in residence prior to student teaching
- Passing score on portfolio presentation, written and oral
Following the action of the Teacher Education Committee on the Student's application, the student will be notified, in writing, of the disposition of his/her case. Students who are approved should immediately thereafter submit the Student Teaching Request for Placement form to the Teacher Education administrative assistant.
