Elementary Education Degree Completion Program
We are seeking teacher candidates who are dedicated and focused, open to multiple viewpoints, enthusiastic about learning, able to negotiate systems, and excellent at communicating. For students seeking admission to the elementary education degree-completion program, requirements are as follows:
A minimum of 31 semester hours of transferable college credit from accredited institutions or approved military education with at least half of their general education completed. Admission to the program is based upon attainment of a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better on all college-level courses, including transfer credits. In addition, applicants must complete the following to be considered for admission to the program:
- Elementary Education Degree Completion application, essay and application fee of $40
- Resume’
- Submit one official transcript from each college/university attended
- Three letters of reference
- Teachers Standards and Practices Character Questionnaire
- Passing scores on the CBEST or Praxis I PPST
- Successful interview with faculty
The Oregon Transfer degree (AAOT) is a perfect fit with our general education requirements. Please contact us to plan your coursework as you prepare for this major. Students may also be admitted to our preparation program to complete general education and prerequisite courses in our degree completion format. Some pre-requisite courses will be offered each semester. Students should also complete all prerequisite (pre-cohort) coursework as available and be admitted to the program before entering the cohort.
