School of Management Speaker Series
On a quarterly basis (June, September, March, and January) George Fox University’s School of Management hosts an event that opens a dialogue regarding pressing issues and solutions of our day. These events are open to the community and are supported by the university’s alumni and friends. At each event, we honor an outstanding leader from business to serve as a distinguished speaker on topics of pressing concern. Thus far, we have hosted topics on organizational change, servant leadership, and the power of human resources. All topics are focused broadly on management concerns, but with a Christian worldview perspective. The School of Management Speaker Series lineup for 2008 and early 2009 is now available. We hope you will join us for our next event. There is no registration cost, and a light breakfast will be provided. Please R.S.V.P. if you plan to attend. “Change and Responsibility: Business Process Improvement”
Dr. Alan Kluge
Managing change is important, but it must be proceeded by deciding what to change. Business process improvement allows us to decide what to change and how to change it. Designing change and setting goals in the best interest of all stakeholders creates an added responsibility beyond increasing just profits.
The George Fox University School of Management and the alumni association welcome local and international business leaders to share their experiences and insights of the complex application of management in our world today. If you would like to be considered or would like to nominate someone as a speaker, click here.

School of Management Leadership Symposia
George Fox University’s School of Management MBA program develops leaders to be servants for the world. This development transpires through course work, discussions, minor assignments, and major projects about people and organizations, communication, ethics, and social responsibility. The program emphasizes the development of people skills accompanied by analytical capabilities. The result is a leader who is practical and needed in a dynamic world.
Twice each year these servant-leaders share their perspectives on critical topics as part of their capstone course, Transformational Leadership. This course explores historic and contemporary leadership theories and models from which a greater understanding of people, organizations, and the world emerges. Particular emphasis is given to evaluating leadership theories from a values perspective, determining ways they can be applied to the most current developments in organizational change strategies. Using this knowledge, students are presented with ways in which leadership can be conceptualized and applied to today’s increasingly complex organizations. The Leadership Symposium provides students a communication platform to convey to industry practitioners and academic scholars their understanding and solutions to the most pressing management and leadership issues, concerns, and topics of our time.
We hope that you will join us for our next Leadership Symposium. There is no registration cost, and breakfast and lunch will be provided. Please R.S.V.P. if you plan to attend. All symposia are held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at George Fox University’s Newberg, Ore., campus. Directions available online.
