John Gorlorwulu
Assistant Professor of Economics
John Gorlorwulu joined George Fox University in 2007 and teaches in the areas of microeconomics, managerial economics and applied quantitative methods. He has taught economics, planning and applied quantitative methods at various colleges including California Polytechnic State University, St. Mary's College of California, Linfield College (Oregon) and Ithaca College (New York).
In addition to his academic activities, John's experience spans economic development policy formulation and implementation in the US and Liberia. As the lead economist for the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department (2004-2006), his research supported the formulation and implementation of economic and community development policies and programs for the State of Oregon. As staff of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Liberia in the early 1990s John worked with a network of nongovernmental and international humanitarian agencies in the implementation of relief and economic recovery projects for dislocated populations of the Liberian civil war in rural areas.
John holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Cuttington University College in Liberia and graduate degrees from Cornell University in New York. His research interests lie in regional economic development (in developed and developing economies) and business strategy.
