Professor of Business
Alan Kluge is professor of business for the School of Management at George Fox University and also serves as director of special projects in the School of Management. He teaches at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in the areas of marketing, process improvement, and project management. His primary area of research focuses on the application of Six Sigma quality improvement to nonmanufacturing settings.
Kluge came to George Fox University in 1996 to assume the position of director of continuing education. While in that role he helped to establish two new degree programs: a bachelor's degree in management and business information systems, and the master of arts in organizational leadership which is delivered at the university's campus in Boise, Idaho. Since 1999 he has been on the faculty in the School of Management.
Prior to George Fox, Kluge taught four years at Purdue University in the area of information systems. Prior to Purdue he was at Oregon State University for 12 years where he served as director of the university's popular undergraduate program in hotel, restaurant, and tourism management, a program that resided in the College of Business.
Kluge lives in Dundee, Ore., just outside of Newberg, with his wife, Alice. He has two daughters, Amy and Anna.
