Quad Studying
The campus quadrangle ("the quad") is located in the center of campus and is home to Centennial Tower, built to commemorate the university's 100th year in 1991. Designed by world-renowned architect Pietro Belluschi, it stands 65 feet tall and chimes on the quarter-hour throughout the day.

A sunny February 2016 day provided ideal conditions for students to study outside. In addition to being a great place to relax or study with friends, the quad is often the site of Bruin Brawls, impromptu soccer games and Frisbee tosses, and all-campus gatherings for events such as Serve Day and Welcome Weekend.
