I joined the Department of Biology and Chemistry as an assistant professor of biology in 2016. I spent the previous two years at George Fox as a visiting professor of biology. My graduate training was in the field of protein biochemistry. My current research interests include the identification of mechanisms that underlie the normal and abnormal expression of the hERG potassium channel as related to long QT syndrome, a life-threatening cardiac disorder.
