Gina Miller Johnson

Gina Miller Johnson joined George Fox in 2015 after earning a BA in public relations from the University of Alabama in 2004, an MA in political science from the University of Alabama in 2006, and a PhD from the University of Alabama in political science in 2015.

Her teaching and research interests are in the sub-field of international relations, with an emphasis on political violence, and primary research interests are state repression and the impact of domestic and international institutions on human rights practices. Her dissertation research examines the use of repression against nonviolent dissidents and explores the impact of domestic institutions on state action.

She has published in The Journal of Peace Research and International Interactions. Her current research agenda examines the use of repression against violent and nonviolent dissent.
