Teaching and Research Interests: Camping Ministries

I think I'm the only person in the world with the title "professor of outdoor ministries." My passion for many years has been to put people in touch with God's great outdoors. I've done this by directing Christian camps and visiting and working in camps throughout the world - the former Soviet Union and Siberia, New Zealand, Australia, Central America, Philippines, and Africa. I delight in taking my six grandchildren on outdoor adventures. We come back home with fir cones, feathers, and other treasures. Outdoor photography has been a longtime hobby. I'm an enthusiastic member of Newberg Friends Church, singing in the choir and serving on the worship planning team.
