What do you do at Fox?
I specialize in teaching design courses. I began work as a lecturer at the university in 2018 but have taught here on an adjunct basis since 2011, specializing in classes such as Portfolio Development for Designers, Professional Development for Designers, Designer in Practice, Branding, Print Design, and Design Studio.

When did you start working at Fox?
2011

Education/Experience:
A BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC)

What is something you’d like to do in the future?
I'd like to start a fully functioning Graphic Design Firm within the George Fox Art & Design Department. We already have this student experience with Collaborative Design Studio, but I want to figure out a way for the students to get compensated.

What is something you’re grateful for, appreciate, encouraged by, or excited about?
I love seeing students turn the corner, that moment they really catch on to design and get it. You see immense improvement very quickly when this happens. I had that moment almost 20 years ago and it changed my career. So I get excited when I see it happen for our design students.

What kind of art do you do?
Graphic Design and Brand Strategy. I still have a Design practice outside of my teaching role at George Fox. Check out ashleylipparddesign.com to see what I've been up to for 21 years.
