Jack Lyda, MA

Operations Manager

Office: Portland Center #276

I joined the adult degree program in 2007 as the first operations manager. I have more than 30 years of experience in operations and management, mostly as an officer and pilot in the U.S. Air Force. During that time I was stationed in Mississippi, Texas, North Carolina, Germany and Denmark. I also served in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq and Bosnia.

I enjoy the details of creating class schedules, assigning classes to more than 50 instructors, and managing the budget. I earned a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from George Fox University and a master's degree in Military Studies from American Military University.

My wife Sandy and I have two adult children. We enjoy living on a small farm in the country raising Shetland sheep, chickens, cats, dogs and a llama.
