Carter’s bold move to hold the team accountable for academic commitments and the controversy surrounding the event caught Hollywood’s attention and led to the making of the 2005 movie Coach Carter, starring Samuel L. Jackson in the title role. A successful author and speaker, Carter brings hard-hitting advice about accountability, integrity, teamwork and leadership as a motivational speaker. He also heads the Coach Carter Impact Academy, a boarding school in Texas known for its strict academic and athletic standards.
