Outcomes

Upon completion of the accounting concentration, you’ll be able to:

  • Prepare original work that covers a breadth of topics within the accounting field, including agency accounting, behavioral accounting, forensic accounting, skepticism, agency theory, etc
  • Create a theoretical framework based off of the exploration of your personal beliefs as they relate to various ethical concerns in the field of accounting
  • Explore original questions in a particular topic of interest that leads to the completion of a thesis and dissertation
  • Be prepared to teach accounting at the collegiate level and continue in original research to further the field of accounting

The curriculum includes 9 credit hours that cover accounting principles:

  • Seminar in Accounting (3 hours)
  • Advanced Applications of Ethical Reasoning/Compliance in Accounting (3 hours)
  • Advanced Topics in Accounting (3 hours)
