Switzerland to Austria

Faculty: Laurie Koehler
Meeting: Tuesday, 6:30 - 9:00 PM

COSTS: $2300
DATES: 4/30 - 5/21

The intent of this trip is to view the majestic beauty God has created across the mountains of Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.  Taking in amazing peaks, hiking through beautiful meadows, touring historic castles, and famous landmarks made from war and from the avoidance of war.  We will spend time with locals hearing their stories and providing a community support project where possible.

We will read about the areas we will visit and study key language words and phrases.  The challenge will be made to find biblical references that match the beauty and history of what we will see.

This trip will take us to favorite locations of those who travel in the region but will also have us visiting small friendly villages of the area.  We will take opportunities to visit with locals and take in local culture at every stop.  Language and cultural differences will be made aware to us as we move across 4 countries and various dialects.  We’ll look at the economics of the regions we visit, as well as the religious views and historic layers.

In addition to paying attention to who we are, where we are and how we matter, an importance will be made to recording our journey and creating a story to tell.  It will be incumbent upon us to become storytellers for those who won’t be on the trip and may never be able to see what we have seen.
