Continuing Education

Providing education and training opportunities is central to the work of the Trauma Response Institute. In response to the growing need for responsible and informed trauma response providers, the TRI offers several Continuing Education events covering a variety of trauma response topics.  

I Want to Take Trauma Courses for...

Graduate Credit

Although a majority of our courses are taken by graduate students seeking a mental health degree, they are also available to people with a qualifying graduate degree to take for university credit. This credit can be applied towards the TRI’s Post-Graduate Certificate in Trauma Response Services or used for other educational purposes. Continuing Education (CE) Units

If you are a professional in the community and only want to take a trauma course for CE purposes, they are open to community members based on space availability. Please contact the TRI directly ( to request more information regarding availability. Courses taken for Continuing Education credit cannot be applied to the Post-Graduate Certificate requirements. 

Depending on space, the following courses can be taken for CEUs and are offered on a yearly or biyearly basis:

Annual Trauma & Social Justice Conference

The TRI's annual Trauma & Social Justice Conference is held every fall and is open to members of the community to attend and earn CE units. Click here for more information about the conference.


NBCC ACEP LogoThe Graduate School of Counseling is Approved Continuing Education Provider through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), which will qualify for approval with Boards in Oregon, Washington, and California. Participants are responsible for ensuring that this event will meet specific criteria for continuing education.

George Fox University/Graduate School of Counseling has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 4447. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. George Fox University/Graduate School of Counseling is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
