Vaccinations are the path back to a vibrant campus experience

Our community has done an excellent job of weathering the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout the 2020-21 school year, we worked hard to protect the health of our students, staff and faculty while providing in-person experiences for our Newberg students.

Vaccines provide the clearest path to returning to the vibrant campus life that we had before the pandemic. We highly encourage everyone in our community to become vaccinated at the earliest possible opportunity. George Fox strongly recommends COVID-19 vaccination for students and employees, but will not require it. A campus survey in April 2021 found 90% of employees had received a COVID-19 vaccine or were scheduling one. A June 2021 survey with 900 student responses found 75% of undergradaute students had received a vaccine or were planning to get one prior to the fall semester.

George Fox University is committed to following state and federal public health guidance. Neither the federal or state government has directed that COVID-19 vaccinations be mandated for employees or students at colleges and universities.

Where can I get a vaccine?

Students and employees are encouraged to pursue vaccination using getvaccinated.oregon.gov or VaccineFinder.com. Students and employees can take advantage of a free walk-up vaccination clinic held weekly on Wednesdays from 4 to 8 p.m. in downtown Newberg adjacent to the Newberg Wednesday Market.

To further aid in vaccination efforts, George Fox plans to provide vaccine clinics on campus in the fall.
