Visiting the George Fox University Campuses

We're grateful so many of our university friends and community members are eager to visit our campus again. We can't wait to host you!

The governor's office has set specific guidelines for universities to follow, and right now our campus remains closed to the general public.

Permitted visitors and invited guests must fill out our Visitor Informed Consent Form prior to visiting campus. (This does not apply to admissions visitors whose visit has been scheduled through an admissions visit registration form.)

Frequently Asked Questions

The George Fox University Newberg campus and Portland Center are not open to the general public with the exception of:

  • Those who are visiting for an admissions tour
  • Those who have university business
Family members and guests are not permitted in classrooms or any other area not open to the general public.

Outside visitors will not be invited to campus performances until further notice.

Due to restrictions around the pandemic, there will be no in-person concert this winter.

Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Homecoming 2020 has been postponed until 2021. We look forward to celebrating with our community then. In the meantime, stay connected with our alumni relations office at alumni@georgefox.edu.
Due to the record increase in COVID-19 cases and further restrictions on gatherings, we have been compelled to move our mid-year commencement to virtual only. We hope to hold a hybrid online/in-person ceremony in the spring.

Campus Visitor Guidelines

Guests of the George Fox community are welcome to campus but must adhere to the same COVID-related guidelines as the rest of the university community. Following are guidelines for campus visitors.

All Guests

  • We encourage those who have COVID-19 symptoms and/or are at risk for severe complications (over age 65 or have underlying medical conditions) to stay home.
  • Guests are encouraged to practice good hand hygiene with frequent handwashing for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer (60-95% alcohol content).
  • Guests are encouraged to cover coughs/sneezes with elbow or tissue. If a guest uses a tissue, they should immediately discard the tissue in the garbage and wash their hands.
  • We encourage guests to avoid touching their face.
  • Guests are required to use face coverings at all times.
  • Guests must maintain at least six (6) feet of physical distance between parties, and limit the number of individuals in a given location accordingly. Use 35 square feet per person as a guide to determine maximum occupancy of a room.

Invited Guests (e.g., speakers, board members, etc.)

  • Hosts are required to ensure that invited guests are aware of and comply with the relevant COVID guidelines associated with their visit.

Admissions Guests

  • We ask that those who have COVID-19 symptoms stay home or reschedule for a different date.
  • Family units can be viewed as a single guest group for the purposes of social distancing.
  • Maintain physical distancing of at least six (6) feet between people, except that members of the same party can participate in activities, stand in line together and do not have to stay six (6) feet apart. A distance of at least six (6) feet must be maintained between parties.
  • Face coverings should be worn indoors at all times, and outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained.

Delivery Personnel/Contractors

  • All delivery personnel are required to wear face coverings when on campus. It is highly recommended that university personnel wear face coverings when interacting with delivery personnel.
  • All contractors must wear face coverings when inside buildings or when unable to maintain six feet of physical distancing from George Fox community members.

Residential Area Guests

In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, visitation to university living areas has additional restrictions. We have adopted a policy to correlate with CDC and OHA guidelines for campus living. Learn more
