Lindsey Coates

Assistant Director of Annual Giving Program

Lindsey Coates first arrived at George Fox as a student in 2014. After receiving an interdisciplinary degree in organizational communications and Christian ministries, she began working at the university full time in September of 2018.

Lindsey oversees Annual Giving, working with alumni, parents and friends to secure donations for a branch of the university that the donor is passionate about. She loves her team – “I have never worked with more amazing coworkers,” she says – and loves the fact she is consistently challenged in her role. She also enjoys working with her team of Phonathon students, cultivating a community and seeing them grow as individuals in their time here.

Lindsey was born and raised in Newberg. She worked in the advancement office as a Phonathon caller for two years, including summers, while a student. In the span of four months, she graduated from the university, got married, moved to California, then moved back to Oregon to start her current job.

Apart from work, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family, making macrame, and goofing off with her best friend, husband Austin. One fun fact about her: She was technically born on the George Fox campus, in the previous Newberg Hospital (now the Roberts Center).
