Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Program Formats and Locations
George Fox has a number of campus sites, making the education process more convenient with shorter commutes. The university provides locations in Portland, Redmond, and Salem, along with a virtual option, each site offering full support and service for MAT students. All formats graduate in late April or early May.

- 10.5 months (3 semesters) or 16 months (4 semesters); a fourth semester can be added during the self-paced Phase 2 coursework.

- 16 months (4 semesters); a fifth semester can be added during the self-paced Phase 2 coursework.
- Classes typically meet one evening per week from 6 to 10 p.m. with approximately one Saturday class per month. Occasionally an additional evening or Saturday may be required.
- Virtual classes are taught using a delivery method in which students interact with their professors and classmates online in real time. These virtual classes meet one to two evenings per week and one Saturday per month.
- Application deadline: Dec. 15 for spring start (applications will be accepted until the cohort is full); Feb. 1 for summer start.

1 Full-time MAT students with a single-subject focus take one night class during the fall semester once a week virtually.
2 One or two semester of all part-time formats are full time in order to complete student-teaching requirements.
