Dr. Eloise Hockett has an EdD and MEd from George Fox University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Prior to coming to George Fox, Eloise spent more than 20 years in music education, teaching in private and public schools, and studio instruction.

At George Fox, Eloise co-chairs the College of Education, and chairs the Undergraduate Teacher Education program. She teaches at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and serves on various committees. Eloise is a frequent traveler to Kenya, where she has helped to develop a peace curriculum for the Quaker secondary schools, delivers professional development training for teachers, and promotes education efforts for girls and women in rural areas. Eloise’s research interests include: service-learning; peace education; cross-cultural teaching and learning; and cultural humility. In her spare time, Eloise enjoys spending time with family and friends, and outdoor activities such as: hiking, snowshoeing, backpacking.
