Brenda Morton, Professor of Education, joined the School of Education in 2009, after holding positions as a middle and high school teacher and administrator. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses, and is a cohort leader in the Masters of Arts in Teaching program. She co-created the Trauma-Informed School Practices Certification program in the Trauma Response Institute at George Fox University, and supports K-16 schools and universities in moving to a trauma-informed model. Her research focuses on trauma response, foster youth, at-risk youth, and vulnerable student populations in K-16 settings.

Brenda is an alumna of George Fox University, earning both a Master of Arts in Teaching and Doctorate in Educational Leadership. She holds a post-doc certification in Trauma-Response, and certifications in Psychological First-Aid, Compassion Fatigue Educator, and National Dropout Prevention Specialist.
