GFU Students

The Fall 2021 application cycle deadline for Direct & General Admit applicants is May 7, 2021, @ 2359. 

GFU pre-nursing majors must submit an Intent to Pursue Nursing form to be considered for the current application cycle. The forms are located in FoxTALE on the Fall 2021 Nursing Admission Cycle page. Applicants will self enroll in the course. 

You may use the Should I apply for Direct, General, or Transfer Admit? survey to help you determine what type of application you should fill out. 

Students that qualify for Direct Admit must fill out the Intent to Pursue Nursing - Direct Admit form. Students that qualify for General Admit must fill out the Intent to Pursue Nursing - General Admit form and Transfer Students must fill out an application via NursingCAS. Click on the Transfer Student page for application-specific requirements and here to begin your NursingCAS application.

 Running Start Applicants: Running Start students who complete at least one semester with a minimum of 12 credits at George Fox University will be considered for General Admission or may apply as transfer admits. Please contact the nursing office for instructions regarding your transfer courses.

Admission to the nursing program is competitive and meeting the admission criteria does not guarantee acceptance into the program. General Admit spaces are not guaranteed. Applicants will be offered admission based on a point system and space availability.

Fall 2021 Application Cycle

Note: Due to curriculum changes, BIOL 367 and PSYC 310 (or equivalent) must be completed with a grade of C or higher by spring term 2021 to be eligible for enrollment.

Direct Admit Overview

Students who have completed the most recent two semesters (fall and spring) at GFU with at least 12 credits per semester have maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA in their nursing prerequisite science courses and nursing prerequisite courses and have zero retakes of any prerequisite courses, will qualify for Direct Admission to the College of Nursing. Students must declare their intentions for Direct Admit by filling out the Intent to Pursue Nursing form that is in the Fall 2021 Nursing Admission Cycle course in FoxTALE by May 7, 2021, @ 11:59 pm. Failure to do so may result in not being evaluated for the current admission cycle. Click on the links below to view all requirements.

General Admit Overview

George Fox students who do not meet direct admit criteria may be eligible for the general admit selection process. Students who have a cumulative 2.9 GPA in their nursing prerequisite science courses, a cumulative 2.9 GPA in their nursing prerequisite courses, and have repeated no more than one science and/or one general education (non-science) course are eligible. George Fox Students pursuing General Admit must fill out the Intent to Pursue Nursing form, upload a resume, and essay in pdf format to the Fall 2021 Nursing Admission Cycle FoxTALE course by May 7, 2021, @ 11:59 pm.

Spring 2022 Application Cycle

General Admit Overview

George Fox students who do not meet direct admit criteria may be eligible for the general admit selection process. Students who have a cumulative 2.9 GPA in their nursing prerequisite science courses, a cumulative 2.9 GPA in their nursing prerequisite courses, and have repeated no more than one science and/or one general education (non-science) course are eligible. Waitlist

A waitlist is implemented when there are more qualified applicants than placement capacity for an incoming class. Applicants placed on the waitlist are notified both by mail and email. If positions become available to accommodate additional eligible students, the waitlist will be activated. Applicants are only on the waitlist for the year of application. 

Reapplication

All students reapplying to the College of Nursing must meet that application years admission criteria (cumulative grade point average and completion of prerequisite courses). Reapplication does not guarantee admission
