GFU Students

Students apply in the spring to begin nursing school as sophomores the following fall. Applications are processed through NursingCAS and are not available until December 20, 2019 at 8:00 am and close May 4, 2020 at 12:00 am. Click here to start your NursingCAS application.

The fall 2020 application deadline for all applicants is May 4, 2020

  • Applications are ONLY accepted through NursingCAS (nursingcas.org)
  • Incomplete admission applications will not be reviewed

Admission to the nursing program is competitive and meeting the admission criteria does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

Running Start Applicants: Please contact the nursing office for specific instructions regarding your transfer courses.

Direct Admit for GFU Students

To be eligible for Direct Admit all of the following requirements must be met.

  • Completion of all *prerequisite courses at George Fox University.
    • *High school courses earning college credit equivalent to prerequisite courses are acceptable

  • A maximum of two repeated prerequisite courses is allowed (only one can be a science course)
  • Completion of 24 credits at George Fox University by the end of your second semester with an overall 2.0 GPA.
  • Final acceptance is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen

IF the above criteria is met, the student is automatically admitted into the program based on space availability (if more than 50 students qualify, those additional students will begin the nursing courses in Spring instead of Fall). Continuation in the School of Nursing is contingent upon meeting the minimum requirements for all courses.

GPA is only one of multiple significant predictors of future nursing school success considered by the nursing admissions committee. Continuation in the School of Nursing is contingent upon meeting the minimum requirements for all courses.
