Creation Care Study ProgramProgram Overview
The courses offered include:
New Zealand Ecosystems
God and Nature
Introduction to Sustainable Community Development
Each course experience is enriched with field trips. Through ecological field studies, homestays, and participation in a diversity of cultural activities students explore the ecological and cultural diversity of New Zealand. Learning to sustainably care for both non-human creation and human communities tops off an academically rigorous and spiritually transformative semester.
The student will fill out two applications:
- George Fox off-campus application form (obtained from the Center for Study Abroad; or downloaded here).
- Creation Care Study Program application (to be completed online here). An application fee must accompany your application.
*The CCSP application should only be completed after being informed from the Director of Study Abroad that you are accepted for an off-campus study semester.
Eligibility Students must be full-time undergraduates with junior or senior status, holding a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply.
Recommended credit is 15 credit hours.
While in New Zealand, students will primarily live on the CCSP campus, which is a turn-of-the-century convent turned bed and breakfast turned CCSP campus. Students will also have enriching immersion experiences in indigenous Maori and Polynesian communities and local homestays.
The student pays George Fox's standard tuition, room and board, and student fees and an additional fee for the New Zealand Creation Care Program. Participants continue to receive financial aid, including scholarships, since they are officially George Fox students. Round trip airfare is additional.
