Spain is a country of many different peoples, each with their own culture, attitudes, cuisine and landscape. From the iconic Gaudi buildings of Barcelona to the whitewashed villages of Andalucia, it’s as colorful as it is beautiful.

This tour will highlight the culture, history, art and architecture of Spain since the time of the Moors to present day.  We will explore the fascinating multicultural urban centers of Madrid and Barcelona. We will also enjoy the amazing natural beauty of several regions -- from mountainous Navarre in the Basque region of northern Spain to the warm and inviting Andalusian region of southern Spain, including its beautiful beaches.

You will have the opportunity to view the works of famous artists Gaudi, Picasso, and El Greco, and see architectural marvels such as the cathedral La Sagrada Familia, the Moorish La Alhambra, and the Real Madrid Stadium. You will also experience a day of pilgrimage on the Way of St. James to Santiago de Compostela.

To add to the cultural flavor of the tour, included are such activities as bullfighting, flamenco dancing, and tasty treats such as Galician pies and Paella. We will encounter everyday Spanish culture in local town markets.
