POSITION OVERVIEW: Develop and manage a strategic plan between GFU alumni and parent communities that will achieve desired outcomes, including:

  • Increased engagement
  • Increased satisfaction
  • Increased number of donors
  • Increased giving


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In partnership with the Alumni & Parent Relations Coordinator, we will:

A) Work with the Alumni Association Board to support their leadership in building relationships with Alumni to increase alumni engagement and philanthropic giving.

    • Create and implement a comprehensive Alumni Association Plan to include:
      • increased engagement of Alumni,
      • increased commitment from Alumni,
      • increased number of donors from the Alumni pool, and
      • increased gifts/donations from the entire Alumni Association
    • Develop a full and representative Alumni Association Board consisting of alumni leaders and Supporters through appropriate recruitment activities.
    • Strategically plan and coordinate official Alumni Association Board meetings to drive initiatives toward desired outcomes.
    • Create suitable opportunities for alumni to engage with the university (i.e. events, networking, resourcing, etc.).
    • Improve Alumni satisfaction by producing high quality activities and improving communications to and from Alumni.

B) Work with the Parent Association to support their leadership in building relationships with parents to increase parent involvement and philanthropic giving.

    • Create and implement a comprehensive Parent Association Plan to include:
      • increased engagement of Parents,
      • increased commitment from Parents,
      • increased number of donors from the Parent pool, and
      • increased gifts/donations from the entire Parent population
    • Develop a full and representative Parent Association consisting of parent leaders and supporters through appropriate recruitment activities.
    • Strategically plan and coordinate official Parent Association meetings to drive initiatives toward desired outcomes.
    • Partner with the Parent Association to support their leadership in building relationships with parents.
    • Create suitable opportunities for parents to engage with the university and their students (i.e. events, networking, resourcing, etc.).
    • Improve Parent satisfaction by producing high quality activities and improving communications to and from Parents.

C) Work with the Director of Annual Giving Programs to increase the number of parent and alumni donors and increase giving via the President’s Council and other levels of giving.

D) In conjunction with the Director of Events, provide strategic and tactical leadership/direction in all Alumni and Parent events, assuring that plans are effectively executed so that defined outcomes are achieved.

E) Work with campus partners and deans to connect alumni who are involved in college advisory groups or other activities with the Alumni Association.

F) Work with the Director of Annual Giving Programs to develop and implement a strategy to educate and engage current students in a spirit of philanthropy from the time they enter GFU.

G) Manage the budget for both Alumni and Parent Relation departments.


QUALIFICATIONS /REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years related work experience preferred.
  • Management and leadership experience, including ability to recruit, organize, motivate and supervise employees and volunteers.  Experience with donor development.
  • Ability to handle several projects at once and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member using creativity and initiative.
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who enjoys serving and helping others.
