Answers

1. Can I keep my George Fox employee email account?

Generally no, unless you qualify for Staff/Administrator/Faculty Emeritus status. Staff and Administrative employees should consult the Employee handbook under the Termination section or contact  the Employee Empowerment department. Faculty can contact the Academic Affairs office. If you are also an alumnus, you have a separate G Suite account under your student username which does not contain, nor is connected to, the emails and data in your employee account.

2. Can I forward my George Fox emails?

As an employee, forwarding your George Fox email is not an approved business practice. If you start forwarding your emails just before you leave, it only forwards new emails from that point forward.

3. What about my other G Suite products?

4. When will access to my email account be removed?

This is determined by the Employee Empowerment department. More information is in the guide above.

5. How can I transfer some of my emails and Google Docs to another employee?

Please call the Service Desk to transfer emails to another employee.

Use a Team Drive to transfer files in Google Drive to another employee or your supervisor.  Learn More

6. I will no longer be an employee but I am an alumnus?

All students have an email username that is assigned based on when they were first admitted to the University. When you become an alumnus, you retain your student e-mail address for a new alumni George Fox email and G Suite account.  If you were an alumus before you became an employee, as an employee, your username changes to one without any year attached.  Conversely, when you are no longer an employee, your username reverts back to the one you had as a student and the year is added back to your username. Your employee and your alumni accounts are separate accounts and will not contain the same emails and data. Click on the Alumni Email Accounts link on the left for more information.

example:

student username: asmith99

employee username: asmith

alumni username: asmith99
