Tricia Hornback views the world through a lens of restoration and reconciliation. As a Native American First Nations person, she has spent much of her career researching and assisting in economic development, self-determination and the empowerment of marginalized people.

Hornback's’s research interests include spending three years traveling between Native American tribal communities to assess "The Promise & Reality of the Native American Indian Self-determination Act," as well as reviewing United Nations goals and data to consider the effects of digital distance on economic development of the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in Southeast Asia.

Hornback has served as a primary advisor for UN peacemaking efforts in East Timor and led economic development teams in Myanmar, India, Uzbekistan, Thailand and southern China.
