BLS AHA Certified (Health Professional Only)

BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR & AED course is designed for people working or training in the healthcare profession. Included are both in-hospital and out-of-hospital professions such as physicians, nurses, dentists, paramedics, EMTs, respiratory, physical and occupational therapists, physician assistants, residents or fellows, medical, dental, nursing students, CNA students, medical & nursing aids students, and other allied health personnel.

This course teaches how to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants including rescue breathing with a mask, a bag-mask device, and oxygen.  It will also teach how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED); and how to help someone who is choking. Passing a practical skills and written exam are required for certification. The BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR & AED card is valid for 2 years.

Heart Saver CPR/AED and First Aid AHA Certified

This course is designed for the general public, whether you need First Aid and/or CPR & AED for a job requirement or want basic classes for your own needs.  

This course teaches how to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants including rescue breathing with a mask. How to use an automated external defibrillator (AED); and how to help someone who is choking.  Basic First Aid, choking, and care for common medical, injury, and environmental emergencies.  Passing a practical skills and written exam are required for certification.  Heartsaver certification card is valid for 2 years.

C-CERT Training

This course consists of eight units and culminates in a “hands-on” disaster simulation that allows participants to experience an emergency as an on-scene responder. Upon completion of the program, students receive a certificate that identifies them as an emergency response team member during disaster response. This training will provide the student with the skills they will need to assist the George Fox Community and the Department of Security Services in responding to a real-world emergency or disaster.

Class runs: Sept. 18-Oct. 30

When: Every Wednesday 2PM-5PM

Who: All GFU students, staff, and faculty.
