Senior Outreach Ministries connects students with the older generation of Newberg. This is a relational ministry that allows students and senior citizens to pursue friendships through monthly parties at Friendsview Retirement Center and/or pairing college students with a specific elderly person for weekly visits. If you are interested in being involved in either parties or weekly visits fill out the preliminary application.

Faith In ActionIf a student desires an personal one-on-one relationship with a senior citizen, Faith in Action pairs students with a senior in need of a friend. The two will meet once a week for an hour in the home of the senior citizen, participating in whatever activities the two choose to do together. These senior citizens live on their own so they are fairly independent and are simply in need of a friend. If you would prefer, you can also partner with another GFU student and the two of you can do a weekly home visit together.
Faith in Action Application
If you want to do weekly visits with the elderly in Friendsview Assisted Care Unit apply here. These will also be weekly, hour-long visits with a specific resident at Friendsview.
