Sunday, January 11


Residence halls open

Beginning at noon, new residential students can move in to their assigned campus housing. Director of Housing Keith Schneider will send information to students regarding contact information for the Resident Assistant (RA) who will assist the student with the check-in process and obtaining a room key.

Orientation and Welcome Dinner
Cap & Gown Room - Student Union Building

Enjoy dinner in "the Bone" (Bon Appetit) and experience an official welcome to George Fox University! Meet the professional staff who will help you with your transition. Ask a current panel of students any questions you may have about being new at Fox. Hear what they were glad they did or wish they had done in order to get connected.

Mail Services – North Street Annex

Sometime today, stop by Mail Services to pick up your mailbox key. All students living on or off campus must have a box on campus.

First Year Seminar for First-Year Students
Please check your class schedule for location

This seminar is designed to help facilitate your transition to college life as you embark on this new adventure at Fox. You will get an opportunity to learn about what you bring through the StrengthsQuest assessment and then discover how to apply those strengths to various areas of your life: academic, relational and vocational. In addition, you will learn what tools and information you need to navigate this first year at Fox.

Chapters Night!
Chapters Books and Coffee, downtown Newberg

Meet in front of the Stevens Center to walk over to Chapters. Any day of the week you can find George Fox students, staff and faculty meeting, studying and enjoying a warm drink in this cozy little shop in downtown Newberg. Come and meet other new students.
