George Fox University Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response

Seminary announcements

Portland Seminary is monitoring the international and domestic response to the coronavirus and has taken proactive steps to deliver on our educational promise as outlined below.

We realize that this is unsettling, especially in the midst of challenges in your ministry, financial uncertainty as well as health concerns for both students and their loved ones. Please know that the students of Portland Seminary are in our prayers, and we want to walk beside you as you lead your own faith communities through this crisis.

Spring 2020 Semester

  •  The Seminary has postponed the 'Spring 2020 Commencement' to May 6, 2021. We are still working out the details but here are a few things we can assure 2020-21 graduates:
    • The ceremony will take place the same day as the Spring 2021 Commencement, but the "Class of 2020" will be recognized separately.
    • The ceremony will be held at Bauman Auditorium at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon.
    • The Seminary will make plans for graduates to connect with fellow students and faculty in addition to the ceremony event. Details TBD.
