The mission of the health administration adult degree program is to educate and prepare individuals to be leaders who can meet the challenges facing the health care industry in our region, advance the quality of care delivered to all, and fill anticipated workforce needs in a variety of positions in health administration.

You will learn to:
  • Lead teams and change initiatives
  • Use effective verbal and written communication strategies in health services management
  • Apply administrative principles and theory to effectively manage health care operations
  • Analyze the environment, structure, and functions of health care organizations
  • Be responsive to the needs of the health services consumer and promote positive relations with all stakeholders
  • Effectively manage and allocate human, financial, and information resources
  • Establish, implement, monitor, and assess organizational objectives
  • Provide direction and guidance in maintaining professional, legal, and ethical standards
  • Understand the legal framework and the organization and delivery of health care in the United States
  • Demonstrate knowledge of health care economic principles and an understanding of how to apply them in the health care decision-making process

Credit Requirements

To graduate with a bachelor's degree, you must complete a total of 126 semester hours as follows:
Minimum required entry credits for major 62
Additional credits needed for graduation 28
(general education, electives, or life-learning credit)
Credits earned in Health Administration Major courses 36
Total 126

Health Administration Degree Program Format

  • Meet one night each week, 6-10 p.m.
