Bauman Auditorium

  • Opened in 1982
  • Seats 1,150 persons
  • Used for chapel, theatrical productions, special lectures, as well as band, choir, and orchestra concerts
  • Chapel is held on Mondays and Wednesdays and is a required part of student life
  • Bauman also hosts "Greenroom," the student-led chapel on Fridays that is not required but well-attended

Fun Facts:

  • The organ boasts more than 2,000 pipes
  • The Oregon symphony, one of America's major orchestras, uses Bauman Auditorium for recordings because of its superior acoustics. James DePreist, laureate music director of the symphony, describes the auditorium as "one of the finest venues for music-making in this country"
  • In addition to an annual Oregon Symphony concert, the auditorium has hosted performances by national artists and musical groups such as Switchfoot, the David Crowder Band, Chris Tomlin, and Shawn McDonald
