19.7 ANF: Presenting Research at ACCI National Conference – Andrew Van der Wuff

Proposal: During this past summer and fall semester, I conducted research on the determinants of financial inclusion within the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) nations. My research is co-authored with Jeanne Hogarth Vice President of policy at the Center for Financial Services Innovation and Nate Peach, Assistant Professor of Economics at George Fox University. Our paper was accepted for the annual American Council for Consumer Interest (ACCI) 2013 National Conference in Portland, Oregon. Acceptance at ACCI requires a rigorous peer-review process. As the lead author I will be presenting our findings at the conference. The typical ACCI presenter is someone with an advanced degree in finance or economics. I will be the only undergraduate presenting at this years conference. I am requesting funding to cover the expenses for the registration of the event, transportation, food, and the requirement to stay in the Benton Hotel.

Discussion:

-       Outcomes

  • Got a scholarship to knock off conference fees.

-        Decisions

  • Very cool opportunity.

Call to Question: J. Riedel

Seconded: T. Snyder

Motion Passes: 7-0-0

19.8 ANF: Society for Research in Child Development Conference – April Roler and Justin Sitch

Proposal: The conference will provide an immersed experience into recent studies on child development. With the volunteer opportunities, we will have hands on experience in working in the research profession. We will be able to attend a variety of seminars and sessions that will help us get a better, hands-on, understanding of what it means to be a successful, active psychological researcher.

Discussion:

-       Outcomes

  • This would be affecting five students total.

-        Decisions

  • It would be $486 for food because it is for five people, not six.

Call to Question: J. Riedel
