Internet Filtering

The Friendsview Internet uses network hardware and online services to filter inappropriate websites. This combination allows us to receive and apply website ratings automatically to our hardware, while giving us the ability to manually block or exempt specific websites from the filtering service.

If during normal and appropriate use a person encounters a URL that is filter blocked, he or she may contact the IT Service Desk, after identifying themself as a resident of Friendsview and request that the website be exempted from the filtering service. The site will be reviewed, and in most cases the website can easily be reclassified to allow access. If it is determined that the site is inappropriate, the individual will need to access the site using a non-filtered connection.
