Network Registration (NetReg) InformationWhat is NetReg? NetReg (pronounced NetRej) is a network registration system. It requires anyone trying to use the network to first go through a registration process. Why use NetReg? With NetReg in place we will be able to ensure that everyone using our network is authorized to do so. This will prevent non-GFU people from using our network resources unless they are authorized to do so. NetReg also allows IT to more quickly find and remove network behavior that can slow or cripple the network, such as virus or "denial of service" attacks. NetReg will also bring accountability to everyone's use of the network as it will allow IT to identify not only the location but also the person responsible for unauthorized or damaging activities on the network. How do I register to use the network? NetReg is designed to be as easy as possible. You will only need to register once a semester per network (i.e. once for all of student housing and once for wireless). To register simply:
