Below are listed some of the principal services in Bruindata that are available for faculty; note that some of these options may or may not be on your Bruindata.
Home: Shows any imperative information that should be taken care of as soon as possible.
My Data contains the following:
Personal Information: Home address, phone, and academic holds.
Vehicle Registration: Register your vehicle for a parking permit.
Bruinmail: Directs you to Bruinmail so you can check your e-mail through Bruindata.
FoxTALE: Directs you to FoxTALE so you can access and use FoxTALE from Bruindata.
Library: Gives you a direct link to the library homepage.
My Classes Lists all of the classes you are currently teaching and contains the following:
Class Roster: Shows all of the current students enrolled in the selected class.
Midterm Grade Entry: Allows you to enter in students' midterm grades, only available during certain times of the year.
Final Grade Entry: Allows you to enter in students' final grades, only available during certain times of the year.
E-mail Students: Allows you to email all or the selected students from the list of students in the current selected class.
Grading Type: Early is not used, use regular to grade your classes. This is only available during certain times during the year (contact the registrar at ext. 2210 for more information about grading times).
Term: Select the appropriate term you wish to review.
Click the "Load" button when you have selected what you wish to view.
Advising contains the following:
Registration Checklist: From here you can allow the students you are advising to be able to register for classes. To do this, check the box next to their name and click the "Save Changes" button.
E-mail Advisees: From here you can send an e-mail to all or a select few students to let them know that they are available to register, need to see you before they can register, or other reasons.
Students contains the following:
Your Advisees: The current students you are advising. Select them to view their information.
Students: Allows you to view more information about a student. For more information on each of these options, view the Students Bruindata page. To return to this page, hit the back button on your browser.
Term: The term for which you will view the information.
Schools: The students' current class courses (graduate, undergraduate, continuing student, or all schools).
Registration: Enables you to register your advisees through Bruindata. (It needs to be within their registration time, however).
Courses: Lists class schedules.
Directory: A directory of current students and faculty attending/employed at the university. Select "Student" or "Faculty."
Resources | Downloads: This allows you to download the VPN client. It also includes instructions for installation.
Custom: Additional tabs can be created upon request (to the Service Desk).
