Virus Help
How do I know if I have a virus?
I think I have a virus (or want to prevent getting a virus). What do I do about it?

Remember: Prevention is key! Like a cold, it's much easier to prevent a virus than get rid of one once you have it.
Here are two important steps to perform regularly:

  • Run LiveUpdate to get latest virus definitions. Instructions
  • Run Windows Update to get all critical updates.

Useful virus/spyware prevention and removal tools:

  • Norton Antivirus 8.1 Internal External, provides full anti-virus protection.
  • AdAware 6, detects and removes spyware.
  • McAfee AVERT Stinger, detects and removes specific viruses. (Not a substitute for full anti-virus protection)
