2013-2014 Housing Selection Process
Here are a few details students should be aware of regarding housing selection for the 2013-14 academic year.
Make sure you have paid your $150 housing deposit prior to March 15, 2013. For more information about this see the Current and Returning Students section.
Decide whom you want to live with and where you want to live. You’ll choose your preferences for where you want to live based on the number of people in your group. Here are a couple helpful resources as you consider roommates and housing locations:
Some residence hall rooms will be part of selection—both as an option or in the event that you sign up for a four or six person room and don’t get in one.
If there is a specific transfer student that you would like to live with just e-mail housing@georgefox.edu with the name of the incoming student. However, that person’s credits will not count in your group’s totals.
If you have an odd number in your group and don’t have a specific person to fill the group, then the empty spot will be designated for a transfer, international or another returning student.
The housing form will be online the week before Spring Break, March 18 – 22. One person from your group will fill this out for the rest of the group. You will be asked to indicate who you want to live with, how your group will be arranged if placed into smaller areas, and your rank of preferred areas
We will collect all the information and make placements during spring break. The process for making placements follows:
- Groups will be ranked from highest to lowest number of average credits.
- Starting with the group with the highest credits, groups will be placed in the first housing area that is available on their list.
- Once everyone has been placed, students will be notified of their housing assignment.
