EDFL OFFERS TWO SESSIONS THIS SUMMER

SYMPOSIUM ON EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH

For those students interested in moving from teaching in K-12 schools to teaching in higher education and desiring an online course join us May 1 through July 11 for this course.  The course will focus on various elements of excellent college teaching using a recent book by Stephen Brookfield The Skillful Teacher, and review research of college faculty from a national sample.  For more information about this three unit online course, contact Gary Railsback (grailsback@georgefox.edu) or (503) 554-2855.

The EDFL department will be offering two - three week sessions this summer.  The first will be June 23 - July 11, and the second July 14 - August 1. 

The entire class schedule is available online or you can view classes by topic . 

During the three week summer session of July 14 - August 1 there will be a symposium held between the morning and afternoon classes (11:15 am to 1:15 pm). The topic of the three week symposium is educational research with presentations each day by George Fox faculty and or recent doctoral graduates.

Week 1 - July 14 - 18 will be coordinated by Gary Tiffin (gtiffin@georgefox.edu).

Week 2 - July 21 - 25 will feature Dr. Sara Johnson, Oregon elementary principal of the year reporting on her work with Grand View Elementary school in McMinnville, and her doctoral dissertation that focused on educational leadership.

Week 3 - July 28 - August 1 will be coordinated by Ken Badley (kbadley@georgefox.edu)
