Mark graduated from George Fox University, then received a master's degree in adult and community education from Alaska Pacific University. He has extensive experience in education and management. He also served as a missionary to the Aleut peoples in Alaska for several years.

Mark loves to teach adult students and watch them develop to their full potential. His favorite subjects to teach include organizational behavior, Christian apologetics, ethical and virtue theories, and pastor mentoring. Mark enjoys camping and hiking with his wife, having fun with the kids and grandkids, experimenting with AM and FM antenna design, and watching rings form on trees when he really wants to relax.
