Rebekah Hanson, violist and violinist, holds a DMA and MMus from the University of Oregon. She graduated in 2010 with her doctorate in viola performance and string pedagogy with an emphasis in early childhood music education and musicology.

At George Fox University, Rebekah works with the university symphony, teaches applied violin and viola lessons, as well as beginning and intermediate strings, and coaches chamber music ensembles.

Rebekah is a certified Suzuki teacher for both violin and viola and has been teaching in a private studio in Newberg for over 15 years. In addition to teaching, Rebekah plays electric viola and performs and records with her band, The Cabin Project ( The band tours regularly throughout the United States and most recently played at the SXSW and Folklife Festivals. They are currently working on a new album that will be released in the spring of 2016.
