George Fox University | Academics | Apply
Selection Of StudentsGeorge Fox students:The initial screening will be done in the same way as our current selection process, i.e. a faculty/administrator committee will meet after the January deadline and determine which of the applicants should be approved by George Fox to participate in some type of semester-off-campus program. Factors in this screening are the impact on the George Fox budget, the student's interest in and aptitude for the kind of programs they have selected, and the strength of the faculty references. Selection of students from George Fox and other institutions for this specific program: Once George Fox approves a student for studying off campus, he or she is then eligible to apply to the programs that interest them. Each of the current programs to which George Fox sends students has its own selection programs. In the case of the CCCU programs, there is an online application process, but the decisions are made by the staffs of the respective programs. The director of the South American Studies Program, Ron Stansell, will convene a selection committee to review all applicants and make decisions. There might be overlap with the general George Fox selection committee, but not necessarily. While it is assumed that George Fox students will have a higher priority than other students, the comparative aptitude and suitability of the applicants might result in the committee declining to accept some George Fox applicants.
