Faculty Development

The goal of faculty development at George Fox University is to provide faculty with opportunities to enhance their teaching practice with the ultimate goal of improving undergraduate and graduate student learning.

Dr. Karen Buchanan serves the university as Dean of Instruction and teaches in the School of Education. She received her doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Seattle Pacific University. As Dean of Instruction, her principle responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with Provost Allen on educational issues;
  • Leading the faculty development opportunities on our campuses;
  • Providing one-on-one support for faculty
  • Working with institutional assessment and university accreditation
