Individuals with teaching experience in Medical-Surgical and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing are encouraged to apply; however, other areas of teaching specialty will be considered. Cinema and Media CommunicationGeorge Fox University announces a tenure-track faculty position in Cinema and Media Communication to begin August 2008. The Communication Arts Department seeks a dynamic media professional who can communicate his or her enthusiasm and knowledge of the media to students. Although the main teaching load is in the areas of Film and Video Production, priority will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following specializations: animation and motion graphics, multimedia/web design, broadcast journalism, and media studies. In addition, candidates will be expected to engage in appropriate professional and scholarly activities, assist other department members in shaping the media communication curriculum, advise majors, serve on faculty committees as requested, and carry out other faculty responsibilities. Graduate Faculty PositionsAssistant/Associate Professor of Education George Fox University's School of Education seeks qualified candidates for two (2) full-time tenure-track positions at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to teach in its Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree program. GFU MAT is a P-12 initial teaching license program committed to preparing teachers who as professional educators think critically, transform practice, and promote justice. Applicants must have significant K-12 teaching experience in public schools, hold an advanced degree (doctorate preferred) in education or a related field, and possess the background and experience necessary to teach graduate courses in areas of specialization such as curriculum and instruction, learning theory, human development, reading and literacy education, multicultural education, ESOL, secondary content area methods, and action research. Assistant Professor of Education George Fox University’s School of Education seeks qualified candidates for a half-time (.5FTE) non-tenure track position at the level of Assistant Professor to teach and provide cohort leadership for the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) program in Redmond, Oregon. This is a 12 semester hour position spread over fall, spring and summer sessions. The successful candidate will be assigned an instructional load that is comprised of 3 semester hours of cohort leadership, and 9 hours of teaching. For example, the teaching assignment will consist of professional education courses such as The Professional Educator, Structures for Teaching and Learning, Learning Theory, Language and Literacy, Human Development, Action Research, and supervision of Practicum I, II, and III (student teaching). Qualifications: Applicants should have at least five years of exemplary K-12 public school teaching experience, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and continuing professional development. Higher educational experience and an earned doctorate preferred. Applicants with master’s level experience must be willing to enroll in a doctoral studies program.
