Serving our Students by Serving our Faculty
Let us know how we can support you as we collaborate to help our students achieve exceptional life outcomes. We are here to complement and enhance your work with students; let us know how we can help.
Faculty members are the primary advisors for our students and your expertise is invaluable. CAP Coaches partner with you in this process by equipping students to understand the big picture of how their academic pursuits and career goals work together to shape their success.
CAP Coaches assist students with course schedules, major selection, and General Education requirements, helping students stay on track toward graduation. We also direct students to resources that aid them in discovering their purpose through career mapping and connect them with internships and other potential work experiences.
It’s never too early for students to develop a Career Plan. As faculty deliver the content, tools are available to help students seek out opportunities to engage in experiential learning that will strongly contribute to their knowledge, skills, and abilities as they build a career profile. The IDEA Center staff will support faculty in helping guide students through the process of articulating their employability and connecting to the world of work.
Supporting Students with Disabilities
Faculty are in the front line, working with our students with disabilities. We are here to support you as we help our students achieve exceptional educational and life outcomes. Don’t hesitate to contact the Disability Services Office (DSO) if you have a question about supporting a student or implementing an accommodation. Visit the DSO website to view additional information for faculty and students.
Academic Resources for Your Students
The Academic Resource Center (ARC) serves students by providing (1) feedback on written work, (2) support and accountability for students looking for assistance with managing their academic schedule, and (3) limited subject tutoring, based on ARC consultant knowledge and availability of other resources on campus. Let us know if you would like your students to visit the ARC for a consultation. Consultants are also available to visit your classes to share about ARC services.
Using Fox360: Alerts, Feedback Requests, and Record Keeping
If you are concerned about a student, log into Fox360 at Fox360.georgefox.edu to submit an “alert” for the student. The Student Support Network will follow up with the student to see if any of us can be of assistance. You might also receive feedback requests about a student; responding via the Fox360 system helps us get a “360” view of how our students are doing.
Faculty members can also use Fox360 to document your own interaction with students; these records are only available to you unless you specifically choose to share a note with a CAP Coach, Student Life administrator, or other colleague. Review the Fox360 Quick Guide and Fox360 Faculty Overview for more information.
