Behavioral Health Clinic

Who are we?

George Fox University, Doctor of Psychology Program

The George Fox Behavioral Health Clinic (GFBHC) is a minimal-cost mental health clinic designed to provide services to the uninsured and underinsured citizens of Yamhill County and the surrounding area. Our goal is to provide behavioral health care to those who would otherwise have difficulty accessing these services.

Whom do we serve?

Therapy will be offered to those with chronic as well as acute issues as long as there is a specific therapy goal that is identified. Ages served will include ages 6 and older (under 18 will require parental consent). Unfortunately, the clinic is not qualified to provide sex offender treatment at this time or perform custody evaluations.

How can we help you?

Therapy is expected to be “short term,” with the focus being on addressing current problems in the clients’ lives and helping them plan for the future using cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques. Therapy will be given in the form of individual or family therapy with the possibility of group therapy as it becomes available.

Therapists will be current students in the George Fox Doctor of Psychology program. Many will be master’s level trained but others will not. All therapists will be supervised by a licensed psychologist to ensure the best quality of care to our clients.

In addition to therapy, we offer psychological assessment services. Call for more information.

How to get started.

To begin accessing services at GFBHC, call us at 503-554-2368 or email us at GFBHC@georgefox.edu to schedule your intake appointment. There is no fee for the intake meeting. However, there is a sliding scale fee for clients based on their household income. These fees can be waived with a voucher from some of our referral agencies such as Love INC.

The intake will be a one-hour introduction to the counseling process and allow us to identify issues and plan how to resolve these issues. This intake does not count as one of the actual counseling sessions. Depending on the volume of clients we are serving at any one time, there may be a waiting list. Our staff should be able to give you a prediction of how long the wait may be.
