NEWBERG, Ore. – For a second straight year, a record number of students have enrolled at George Fox University, affirming its standing as Oregon’s largest private institution for a sixth straight year.

With 4,339 students – including a record 2,488 undergraduates – George Fox continues building momentum while many small and midsize institutions nationwide struggle to meet enrollment goals. The total eclipses last year’s then-record enrollment (4,327).

“George Fox continues to grow because we stay true to our mission and focused on the students we serve,” said Lindsay Knox, executive vice president for enrollment and marketing. “Students and families are drawn to a Christ-centered, faith-focused community where they are known personally, academically and spiritually. Our Be Known promise, now in its 15th year, continues to set us apart and reflects our deep commitment to preparing students for lives of purpose and impact.”

In addition to its undergraduate total, George Fox enrolled 290 accelerated online degree students – primarily adults seeking to finish their bachelor’s degree – and 1,561 graduate-level students in its 21 masters and doctoral programs.

The university attributes much of its growth to its expansion into healthcare programs that address the shortage of medical professionals in the state, particularly in rural areas. This year marked the launch of a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist program – the first of three Doctor of Nursing practice degrees it plans to introduce in the coming years. And last year, George Fox welcomed its inaugural class of occupational therapy doctorate students.

In addition, George Fox’s success underscores its commitment to providing an exceptional first-year experience, a high-quality learning environment both inside and outside the classroom, and the execution of its Be Known promise – that each student will be known personally, academically and spiritually.

“Students and families seeking a holistic Christian education, exceptional professional outcomes, and a tight-knit community where students are known find exactly that at George Fox,” said George Fox University President Robin Baker, the longest-serving university president in Oregon and the Northwest Conference.

George Fox University is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a “Best National University” and by Niche as the #1 Christian College in Oregon. The university offers more than 60 academic programs at the undergraduate level, degree-completion programs for working adults, and 21 masters and doctoral degrees.
